Call for Papers and Workshops
The 38th Annual Conference of the International Society of Travel and Tourism Educators (ISTTE) welcomes you to submit research papers, poster proposals or workshops for presentation. This year’s conference will be on board the Golden Princess departing out of Vancouver, BC and cruising to Alaska. The conference dates are September 21-25, 2019.
The 2019 Conference theme is “Exploring The Frontiers Of Tourism Education” and we expect a wide range of topics related to education, research and management in the field of travel, tourism, and hospitality services to be shared. This is also a great opportunity to network with educators, students and administrators.

The ISTTE cruise will depart out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 4:30 p.m. The ship will be at sea on Sunday, September 22, and arrive in Ketchikan, Alaska, United States at 8:00 a.m. (to 5:00 p.m.). The ship will be at sea on Tuesday, September 24th and arrive back in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on Wednesday, September 25th at 7:30 a.m.
Conference sessions will take place on at-sea days. A cultural-heritage education field experience is planned for Ketchikan, Alaska. We recommend that conference attendees attempt to arrive the day before departure. If any flights are delayed, it will avoid undue stress about arriving in time for embarkation. Details about Vancouver hotel options for the ISTTE group will be available soon. |
The Golden Princess’s inaugural cruise was on May 16, 2001. It has 1,318 guest cabins, 17 decks, and was refurbished in April 2018. With a variety of entertainment options, scrumptious food, and kids' activities, there is something for the whole family. To see more information on this ship, visit Princess Cruise’s website.
